Albert Hammond completes work on a new album celebrating his four decades of hit songs as a songwriter and performer. Versions of the album will be released internationally in Spanish and English with a special double-album version to be released by Sony Spain, all out in November 2010. LEGEND highlights include duets with Albert's son, Albert Hammond, Jr. (from the Strokes), Julio Iglesias, Bonnie Tyler, Cliff Richard, Ron Sexmith, Courtney Taylor (from The Dandy Warhols), Al Stewart, Helena Paparizou, Jeane Manson, Raphael, Miguel Bosé, David Summers, Dani Martín, Rosario and Ana Belén.
Albert is nearing completion on a more than year-long collaboration with the Welsh singer and Grammy Award-winning artist Duffy. As patron of Allegro Music Productions, Mr. Hammond donates two shields to the annual Gibraltar Festival for Young Musicians, which are rotated around the First Schools and the Middle and Senior Schools each year. The Albert Hammond Shields are non-competitive and are to encourage children to participate in the festival each year and enjoy music making and performing. The School Festival Day attracts over 240 children in school choirs and 120 children in school instrumental ensembles.
