Albert Hammond (writer, recording artist): It's... Albert! I'm not a great musician - I just kind of strum along and I can only sing my own songs, anyway - and this song is about my life. About the kid who - and I don't know how he did it - just picked up this guitar and began strumming away and... it happened. And it was a dream. All my life, since I was 10 or 11-years-old when I first taught myself to play guitar and I sang songs that I rote at parties and stuff, that was my dream; one day I'm going to be singing out there in the world. And it happened, so I put it into my life, into my journey, for this record.

I lost my heart, I lost my sleep
I lost my way chasing my dream

Look at me now
Taking a bow
Wondering how
My life is like a dream, dream

I never thought that I would be
Much more than I was meant to be
I put my faith in God above
Hoping he'd repay my love

I don't know how I got this far
My only skill was my guitar

Songs that I played
Took me away
It was ok
Escaping in my dream, dream

I didn't want to be a star
To be the main attraction
I never needed anything
But now I'm getting all the action

I spent some lonely years alone
Feeling much older than my bones

But it's ok
I'm on my way
And everyday
It's working like a dream, dream

So dream of something you can win
A dream that brings you pleasure
A dream that makes your heart sing
Where you will find your buried treasure

(Instrumental)

But it's ok
I'm on my way
And everyday
It's working like a dream, dream
I said dream, dream
Oh yeah, dream, dream

You won't regret a single thing
